Danny Mulheron tells the story of the life and music of his grandfather, German Jewish composer Richard Fuchs in a crafted documentary film directed by him and produced by Sara Stretton.
It is a story with many layers – not the least which is the prejudice he experienced not only as a Jew in Germany in the years leading up to WW2 but in New Zealand branded as a German and therefore an alien enemy,
The Third Richard takes its title from the belief held by Mr Fuch’s father that his musical son was on a par with Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss.
