Created in contribution toward a Master of Arts in Media Studies at Massey University, this documentary investigates to what extent New Zealand’s artists (filmmakers, photographers, and musicians) have been destabilized by the widespread adoption of digital copyright violation. Has the rupture of traditional distribution economically (or otherwise) diminished the worth of art and harmed a content creator’s ability to viably exist in the artistic industry? Or does this new, non-linear, hive driven proliferation of information simply offer a new paradigm for entertainment distribution?
