Bic Runga dropped in to RNZ to play a special te reo Māori version of her song ‘Sway’.

‘Haere Mai Rā’ was created as part of the Waiata Anthems album, a collection of songs by some of NZ’s best loved artists, translated into Māori.

The project was put together by NZ music legend Hinewehi Mohi and released to coincide with Māori Language Week / Te Wiki o te reo Māori. Its release also marks 20 years since Hinewehi sang the National Anthem in te reo Māori at the 1999 Rugby World Cup, causing an uproar.

Other artists that feature on the record includeSix60, Tiki Taane, Drax Project, Benee, and Stan Walker.
